PREMIER Wrestling has a history of clashing styles facing off within the squared circle. From time-to-time, it’s made for some of the best in-ring action. So what will happen when an Olympic grappler goes toe-to-toe with a striking and submission specialist? We’re all going to find out on Sunday, March 6th in Gilroy, CA as “Mr. Athletic” Jeff Cobb (6-5-1) faces “The Butcher” Tyler Bateman (1-3).
“Mr. Athletic” Jeff Cobb is one of the most celebrated Athletes on the PREMIER Roster; an Olympian, highest ranked Athlete on the Top 10 list, highest ranked within the locker room on the PWI 500, and most importantly a former PREMIER Champion. However, “Mr. Athletic” has had a rough series of matches, earning three of his five losses over the past two shows. With his ankle recovering after a grueling pair of matches against Timothy Thatcher (5-3-1) and Embrace the Grind Challenge winner “The Soul Fighter” Joe Graves (4-1-1) at PREMIER XI, Jeff is looking to bounce back in a big way. Can Cobb make 2016 an Olympic-level year? It’ll all have to start with his first opponent of the year.
Despite his record, “The Butcher” Tyler Bateman remains a feared presence in the PREMIER locker room because of what he can do to a human body. Both a swift striker and a submission specialist, Bateman knows how to inflict pain in the best and worst ways. Unfortunately, his skills weren’t enough to put away Alexander Hammerstone (2-0) at PREMIER XI. Tyler is in a position now where every win is a must going forward. If he can claim a victory at PREMIER XII, he has a chance to place on the Top 10 list for the first time. But that win must come against one of the most proven PREMIER Athletes.
